He has won four csc awards and a Gemini for Best Photography in 2010 from the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, and his foray into the dramatic genre has earned him a place in the prestigious festival circuit, including a run at both the Sundance Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival in 2003.
A Full Member of the Canadian Society of Cinematographers and a member of the International Cinematographers Guild (IA667) as a DOP, Matt works primarily in the scripted drama union world, where he brings his critical eye and extensive experience to projects in the both video and film formats.
An esteemed freelance DOP/Operator, Matt answered his professional calling in 1983 as a news cameraman, working the frontlines to capture the stories that shaped his community and the world. He later shifted his focus to the EFP world of entertainment news, where he honed his skills as a cinematographer.
